Commission

The International Commission on Indoor Fungi (ICIF) is a Commission of the Mycology Division of the International Union of Microbiological Societies (hereafter IUMS Mycology Division).

Objective

The objective of the ICIF is to promote work on indoor mycology, especially that on the identification of fungi in connection with the estimation of possible adverse health effects caused by the fungi occurring in indoor air, and to develop good laboratory and taxonomic practice.

Membership

Membership of the Commission is by invitation of the Commission. Membership shall be limited to experts on fungi in indoor air or such other persons who in the opinion of the Commission are able to provide significant information about indoor mycology on a continuing basis.

Aims

The aims of the Commission are (1) to improve any or all aspects of indoor mycology; (2) to improve the accuracy of identifications of indoor fungi in research and private laboratories; (3) to establish a reference culture collection and (4) carry out inter laboratory ring tests
